Fonte Romana

I recently had the privilege of having my second piece published on the She Explores travel blog. This particular photo story is on a very special place in my life, Fonte Romana: an area and restaurant near where my mum grew up in Pacentro, Italy.

I thought it would be fun on here to share some behind-the-scenes photographs of friends and family from the last time we visited.

cloudy day in the mountains, but still so beautiful

besides the wine (of course), I do miss those lil Crodo drinks

more in beverage news

liquid sunshine
in an effort to eat and drink and be healthy/merry, I've been adding turmeric to my beverages lately and I think it's love. turmeric is such a gorgeous color yellow and carries a peppery but subtle taste. this by far is the easiest implementation - straight up in pineapple juice. I've also been making turmeric tea lately which I'll share a recipe of that in the next couple days.

100 days

at the end of April I started the 100 day project (thanks for the nudge Anika). I decided I didn't want to commit to just one medium so I chose the hashtag #lauramakesfor100days leaving me room to branch out from collage to drawing to watercolor, to maybe even cooking a new recipe every day.

so far I'm on day 21 of collage. it's something I've always loved doing in my journal and it's been a lot of fun. here is my first week, with more to come, and all are posted on IG and Flickr. (Please excuse the horrible inconsistent white balance, sigh, I'm working on it.)

challenge kick-off!

kompletly addicted

deeelish

I kinda can't stop drinking Kombucha. the flavor is totally my thang - kinda tea meets vinegar plus or minus fruit (it's better than that sounds). PLUS it's low calorie and packs major health benefits for digestion and gut health, joints, inflammation, mental clarity, mood stabilization, you name it.

here's a recipe for making Kompot, Kombucha's younger sister.
